Residential & Commercial Insulation
We provide insulation services for residential homes, commercial buildings, and specialized facilities across Alaska. Our work covers new construction, existing buildings, and corrective projects where insulation has failed to perform.
Spray Foam Applications
Spray foam is used when control matters more than coverage. Air movement, irregular assemblies, and moisture exposure are the deciding factors — not convenience.
Both open-cell and closed-cell systems are installed where their properties solve a specific problem within the building envelope. When spray foam is used, it has a defined purpose and a defined boundary.
Typically used in buildings where air control, irregular assemblies, or moisture exposure are primary concerns.
- Typical Install Areas
- New custom homes with complex framing or vaulted ceilings
- Commercial buildings with exposed steel or irregular wall assemblies
- Crawl spaces and rim joists in existing homes
- Mechanical rooms and utility spaces
- Buildings requiring tighter air control for energy performance
Batt & Loose-Fill Systems
Batt and loose-fill insulation systems fail quietly when installation is careless. Gaps, compression, and inconsistency reduce performance long before anyone notices.
These systems are installed with attention to fit, continuity, and alignment with surrounding assemblies. When those conditions are met, batt and loose-fill insulation performs reliably in both residential and commercial applications.
- Typical Install Areas
- Single-family homes and duplexes
- Attics in existing residential buildings
- Townhomes and low-rise residential construction
- Light commercial buildings with standard framing
- Floor systems over unheated spaces
Air Control & Vapor Barriers
Insulation alone does not control a building. Air movement and moisture migration determine whether insulation performs as intended or degrades over time.
Air sealing and vapor control are addressed as part of the insulation system itself. These components are installed where conditions require them, not added after problems appear.
- Typical Install Areas
- Multi-unit residential buildings
- Commercial and mixed-use structures
- Mechanical chases and service penetrations
- Party walls and shared assemblies
- Buildings subject to inspection and code-driven requirements
Backed by more than 15 years of insulation experience and a commitment to proven, high-quality materials.
Foam Board & Specialty Systems
Some projects require insulation systems that address structural limits, exterior exposure, or higher performance targets. Rigid board and specialty assemblies are installed when standard cavity insulation is not sufficient.
Continuous exterior insulation, polyiso, polystyrene, injection and pour foams, and remote wall assemblies are used to reduce thermal bridging and manage moisture within demanding assemblies. These systems are selected based on building conditions, not convenience.
- Typical Install Areas
- Commercial buildings with exterior insulation requirements
- Buildings using remote wall assemblies
- Cold storage or temperature-sensitive facilities
- Industrial or utility buildings
- Structures with limited cavity depth or exposed framing
Sound Control Insulation
Sound issues usually come down to how walls, floors, and shared assemblies were built, not how loud a space is meant to be. Noise transfer happens when those assemblies aren’t detailed correctly, and once a building is occupied, it becomes difficult to correct.
Sound control insulation is installed where separation between spaces needs to be reliable and consistent. This work is common in multi-unit housing, offices, and mixed-use buildings where privacy depends on construction details, not finishes or furnishings.
- Typical Install Areas
- Apartments and condominiums
- Multi-story residential buildings
- Office buildings and professional spaces
- Mixed-use buildings with residential above commercial
- Conference rooms and shared-use facilities
Insulation Removal & Corrective Work
There are cases where existing insulation must be removed to correct performance issues. Insulation that has settled, absorbed moisture, or was installed incorrectly cannot be restored by adding new material over it. Covering failed or compromised insulation does not resolve the underlying condition and can allow air leakage, moisture problems, or thermal loss to continue.
Removal allows the assembly to be opened, evaluated, and corrected before replacement insulation is installed. This ensures the building can perform as intended rather than masking a larger issue.
- Typical Install Areas
- Older homes with settled or damaged insulation
- Buildings with moisture intrusion or condensation issues
- Renovation and remodel projects
- Structures with improperly installed insulation
- Fire or smoke affected spaces
